What your rug clean includes

Fibre and construction

We assess the label, weave and backing before choosing a cleaning method. Delicate fibres and unstable dyes need individual assessment.

Edges and spots

The quote covers the rug and the agreed detail work. Fringes, old marks and spills that reached the backing are assessed separately.

Returning the rug

Allow the rug and backing to dry before laying it down. We advise on handling and drying for its construction.

Benefits of a rug-specific clean

  • Care that fits the weave

A flatwoven runner, a thick wool rug and a fringed piece respond differently to moisture. The fibre, backing and edges guide the treatment.

  • Attention on both sides of a spill

If a drink soaked through the pile, flag the backing and underlay too. You can agree which layers need attention before work starts.

  • A quote for your actual rug

Measurements let the team price a narrow runner or a large room rug individually, even when neither fits a standard room size.

How rug and runner cleaning is assessed

A loose rug is priced and treated as an individual item. Its fibre, weave, backing and dyes matter as well as its size.

The woven surface and backing

We assess the care label, construction and condition before choosing the method. Wool, mixed fibres and moisture-sensitive rugs can need different treatment.

Fringes, spots and worn edges

The quote identifies fringe work and any other detail treatment. A spill through the backing needs assessment; cleaning does not repair loose yarn, missing dye or damaged backing.

Rug cleaning prices and drying arrangements

Give the woven length and width in metres, or the diameter of a round rug. Fitted-carpet room rates do not apply.

A complete rug quote

We confirm the full visit price, any minimum and the included work. The quote also states where treatment takes place; collection or off-site treatment is not automatically included.

Protecting the floor and using the rug again

Identify the floor underneath and any furniture covering the rug. Follow the agreed drying plan and wait until the pile and backing are dry before replacing underlay or heavy furniture.

Questions about rug and runner care

How is a rug cleaning price worked out?

Each rug is quoted by its dimensions, fibre, backing, fringe and condition. Fitted-carpet room rates do not apply to a loose rug. The quote confirms the full price, any visit minimum and which surfaces or fringe work are included.

Does every rug use the same cleaning method?

No. Wool, synthetic fibres, delicate weaves and unstable dyes can respond differently to moisture. We assess the fibre, backing and care label before agreeing a method; a missing label means the rug needs closer assessment.

Are fringe cleaning and repairs included?

Fringe cleaning is included only when specified in the quote. Loose threads, worn edges and damaged backing need assessment; cleaning does not repair them. Give the fringe details separately from the woven dimensions.

When can I put a cleaned rug back down?

Wait until both the rug and its backing are dry before replacing underlay or heavy furniture. A dry-feeling top does not establish that the underside is dry. Follow the drying and handling advice given for the rug.

Can I get a quote without a label?

Yes. Give the dimensions and take a daylight photograph of the whole rug. If you can safely lift a corner, include a close-up of the reverse and fringe. The cleaner can tell you if a closer inspection is needed.

How do I measure a runner or a round rug for a quote?

Measure a runner’s woven length and width in metres and note the fringe separately. For a round rug, give the diameter and describe the shape in the enquiry. Include the dimensions and shape in your message.
